Caterpillar’s XQ800 also meets Environmental Protection Agency Tier 4 Interim emission standards. This 725ekW mobile diesel genset is rated for prime operation at 725ekW (480/277V and 240/139V) and 672ekW (208/120V), and can be configured for 50Hz operation, rated at 750kVA (400V). Powered by the Cat C27 ACERT engine, the XQ800 is sold and rented exclusively through Cat dealers. Equipped with the new EMCP 4.4 control panel, the XQ800 features a user-friendly interface and automatic genset paralleling. A principle advantage of the control system is the auto-configuration of key performance parameters when frequency and/or voltage changes are required. The EMCP 4.4, ADEM A4 and Cat Digital Voltage Regulator (CDVR) sense changes and adjust the parameters for optimum performance. The XQ800 power module is ideal for utility paralleling applications as it offers power metering, protective relaying, and engine and generator control monitoring. The optional Utility Multifunction Relay (UMR) provides the protection often required by utilities when paralleling with a utility source. New on the package is a solar-powered battery maintainer, which keeps batteries fully charged when not in use.
