March 22, 2012 – EBMag’s associate editor Alyssa Dalton was there at Ontario Energy Network (OEN)‘s March 20, 2012, luncheon, with featured speaker Jim Burpee, the newly-appointed president and CEO of the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA). There, he stressed the importance of informing the public about the need for government investments in infrastructure, and minimizing the skilled labour shortage.

Burpee also noted that from May to September 2012, CEA would be conducting detailed public opinion research into the value proposition of electricity, with the goal of informing a multi-year strategic communications and positioning campaign for the industry, focused on providing regional validation and support for infrastructure investment and renewal.
