GALLERY – Ontario Energy Network Luncheon (November 2012) Toronto, Ont.

November 6, 2012 | By Anthony Capkun

The Ontario Energy Network’s mission is “to provide networking opportunities in support of the business interests of the energy industry in Ontario”, and it executed that mission again today at a luncheon featuring Anthony Haines, the president & CEO of Toronto Hydro Corp.

You never know who you may meet or what you will learn at an OEN event. (Several years ago, we met Robert lane, who was involved in the creation of the Commodore 64!) Haines explained smart meters are the best thing to happen to local distribution companies (LDCs); having a smarter grid helps them dispatch the right crew to the right location in case of outage, and also helps them find abnormal usage patterns, as with grow-ops.
