GE Home & Business Solutions has named Maryrose Sylvester president and CEO of GE Lighting. Sylvester, who will report to GE Appliances & Lighting president and CEO James P. Campbell, succeeds Michael Petras who has led GE Lighting since 2008. Petras is leaving GE to take a position outside of the company.

“Maryrose’s experience leading and growing businesses, her breadth of experience in GE Lighting, and her proven ability to energize and lead teams makes her an outstanding person to continue the transformation of the Lighting business,” said GE Home & Business Solutions president and CEO Charlene Begley.
During her previous tenure at GE Lighting, she held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility including president and CEO of GE Lighting Systems, general manager of Worldwide Sourcing and director of Sourcing for GE Lighting Europe, based in Budapest, Hungary.
A successor for Sylvester is said to be named shortly.
