Ideal Industries celebrates 50 years of manufacturing in Canada

May 17, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

May 17, 2013 – Ideal Industries (Canada) Corp. is celebrating its 50th anniversary of manufacturing in Canada. Congratulations!

“A 50-year anniversary is a testament to the commitment of the shareholders and the dedication of some very talented people who have worked for Ideal at the Ajax facility,” said Nick Shkordoff, vice-president/general manager Electrical Division, Ideal North America and a former general manager of Ideal Canada.

Commencing in rented premises not far from the present Ajax, Ont., factory in 1963, Yellow 77 wire-pulling lubricant was the first product made (it continues to be manufactured at the Ajax plant). Over the years, the Ajax facility has produced other products, including T-Strippers, Vol-Con testers, fish tape, conduit benders, fuse pullers, outlet testers and commutator maintenance products.

Ideal says it will celebrate the milestone with a summer promotion designed to thank its customers, and with an employee celebration later in the year.
