In memoriam – Robert “Bob” Nelson
December 2, 2024 | By Anthony Capkun

December 2, 2024 – With great sadness, Electrical Business Magazine reports the passing of Robert “Bob” Nelson on November 21, 2024. He was 78.
He was a champion of the electrical industry for decades, including consulting with CSA Group and coordinating electrical apprenticeships at Mohawk College, the National Electrical Trade Council posted to LinkedIn.
Nelson attended George Brown College for Electrical Construction from 1965-1967. In 1979, he joined Mohawk College as a professor, coordinating electrical apprenticeship programs.
In 2002, he joined CSA Group as a senior electrical consultant.
(On a personal note … Bob was both a passionate educator and promoter of the electrical trade. The industry will miss your knowledge and wisdom.)
He was instrumental in shaping NETCO, the post continues, and in developing the Canadian version of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP).
“In 2016, Robert was the first recipient of the NETCO Leadership Excellence Award for his contributions to the industry. Robert certainly embodied those qualities and will be sadly missed,” concludes NETCO’s post.
Donations may be made to the MS Society.
