May 26, 2011 – The winners of the LTE Awards 2011 were announced last week at a gala dinner presentation at De Duif Amsterdam, Netherlands. Industry leaders gathered in the Grand Ballroom to celebrate “innovation and excellence in the mobile broadband industry” as part of the seventh annual LTE World Summit, which took place on May 17-18.

The summit provides a backdrop for “in-depth discussions ranging from business models through to the technology challenges operators still face and the work that needs to be carried out”, said the organizers.

The 2011 awards were judged by a board of individuals from: BT Wholesale, Telefonica, AT&T, France Telecom, Three, E-Plus Mobilfunk, Cosmote and Telecom Italia.

“The LTE Awards 2011 allows us to recognize and celebrate excellence in the LTE Technology community,” said Giles Cummings, events director at Informa Telecoms & Media. “With LTE deployments taking place around the world, the awards address the challenges operators have faced and have overcome.”
