NB Power employees achieve safety milestone

April 20, 2015 – NB Power says its employees at the Coleson Cove Generating Station have reached 10 years of safe electricity production without a lost-time accident.

“Our employees are committed to providing safe, reliable electricity to New Brunswickers,” said Gaëtan Thomas, president and CEO of NB Power. “I am proud of the high standards of work, diligence and focus they demonstrate in their jobs every day.”

Additionally, at the Belledune and Point Lepreau Generating Stations, employees have also reached the milestone of two million hours worked without incident, accumulated over nine years and two years, respectively.

More safety achievements in New Brunswick include:

    • Mactaquac: 15 years five months since a lost-time accident – 1,859,500 hours worked;
    • Belledune: nine years and three months since a lost-time accident – 2,048,670 hours worked;
    • Coleson Cove: 10 years since a lost-time accident – 2,178,157 hours worked;
    • Point Lepreau: one year six months since a lost-time accident – 2,405,326 hours worked.
