Paul Delsey of Ontario claims #1 in Locate Rodeo’s Power Division

August 14, 2014 – The 2014 International Utility Locate Rodeo—a.k.a. the Olympics of the locate industry—recently came to a close, and congratulations to Paul Delsey of Frontier Utility Locating (Jerseyville, Ont.), who scored #1 Rank in the Power Division.

The event featured 73 locate technician competitors and 125 volunteers from across the U.S. and Canada. The event aims to “celebrate the art and science behind the craft of underground utility locating”.

Competitors compete in one of four divisions—Gas, Power, Telecom or Water—each with three different test sites. The scores from all three event sites are used to determine the division winner.

The competition was held August 9 on the campus of Emory University in Georgia. It was hosted by Georgia 811 and the National Utility Locate Contractors Association (NULCA).
