Prysmian marks next phase of construction at Sedalia plant

September 20, 2023 | By Anthony Capkun

September 20, 2023 – Against the backdrop of its $45-million expansion project, Prysmian Group recently hosted a “beam-signing” ceremony to mark the next construction phase at its Sedalia, Mo., plant.

The investment, says Prysmian, includes a 115,000-sf addition to the existing plant, and will create at least 60 new jobs.

Both community partners and Prysmian employees gathered to sign one of the beams that will be installed in the addition.

“In a matter of a few weeks, Septagon Construction company will raise that beam at the heart of our new plant addition,” said Steve Simoncic, plant manager.

Located between Sedalia and Dresden, Missouri, Prysmian’s facility manufactures aluminum building wire for commercial and institutional construction markets. The expansion adds new stranders, extrusion lines, cablers, and upgrades to two current armour lines.

The Sedalia facility currently employs more than 215 administrative and manufacturing employees. That number is set to reach 275 after the expansion.
