Ram 2015 ProMaster “purpose-built, highly customizable van”

December 1, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

December 1, 2014 – The 2015 Ram ProMaster is available in two roof heights (91 in. or 101 in.), three wheelbases and four body lengths, and offers both a chassis cab and cutaway from the factory.

The van offers a 5145-lb payload capacity and maximum towing capacity up to 5100 lb. The gross combined weight rating (GCWR) for the 3.6L V-6 is 11,500 lb, and 12,500 lb for the 3.0L I-4 EcoDiesel. The unibody system under the cab is an enabler for the ProMaster’s segment exclusive front-wheel-drive system, says Ram; the body-integral construction and multiple configurations allow the van to be upfitted for numerous jobs.

The 2015 ProMaster features a standard sliding door on the passenger side with an optional sliding door on the driver’s side. The openings are based on roof height. In the rear, an available three-position rear clamshell door swings open up to 260°, folding almost flat to the side of the van. All three door openings enable forklift pallet loading and unloading. The ProMaster features ParkView rear backup camera and ParkSense rear park assist with audible warning.

Inside you’ll find up to 12 tie-down rings (1000-lb rating) that fold away to maintain a flat floor, and five sidewall tie-down rings (550-lb rating). Available partitions also offer protection against the possibility of load shift.
