Aug. 6, 2019 – Eaton Canada recently reissued a recall for various configurations of its heavy-duty 30-A and 60-A safety switches manufactured between November 2015 and January 2018.

The switches, which were primarily sold in Canada and the U.S., can supply power even their handle is in the ‘off’ position, subjecting those operating the switch or any downstream equipment to a risk of serious bodily injury or death. (Fortunately, Eaton has not received any reports of injuries or deaths resulting from this issue to date.)

Distributors in Canada and the U.S. are being informed about the recall and advised on how to identify suspect switches (example pictured) and what corresponding actions to take. For more information, click here.
