RECALL: Kohler portable generators (PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E and GEN5.0)

August 10, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

August 10, 2016 – Kohler Power Systems has issued a recall for certain portable generators due to a wiring error that poses an electric shock hazard.

The generators have black frame assemblies and blue fuel tanks with the name “Kohler” printed on a sticker on the fuel tank. Only generators with serial number 4528733735 or lower and a manufacture date prior to 06 2016—representing the months and year of manufacture—are included in this recall. This includes model numbers: PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E and GEN5.0 (spec number PA-GEN50-3003 only).

Neither Health Canada nor Kohler have received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the generators in Canada or the United States.

Approximately 230 units of the recalled products were sold at distributors across Canada from June 2014 through May 2016.
