August 15, 2012 – The CoolSplice connector portfolio from TE Connectivity now includes connectors that accept 20-22 AWG solid and stranded wire. This line of unsealed and sealed splice connectors terminate discrete and/or exposed jacketed wire leads to each other when the push buttons are pressed, which displaces the wire insulation and creates the electrical connection. To terminate, users must cut the wire, insert it into the CoolSplice connector, and press down on the buttons. The connectors claim to eliminate pre-stripping and can be used for indoor and outdoor lighting applications.
