December 3, 2013 – The newest member of Ideal Industries’ PowerBlade line of cable cutters—the Big Kahuna power blade—features a 3.5-in. jaw opening for copper and aluminum electrical cables and boasts installation-ready cuts on high voltage cables up to 1250 MCM in less than 20 seconds.

The company says the Big Kahuna power blade is intended to replace time-consuming, awkward manual cutters that are prone to distort or “football” large cable geometry, creating poor connections and leaving behind tired hands, arms and shoulders. It attaches onto any 12V or higher drill and its contoured blade design claims to minimize cable distortion, while the adjustable torque arm holds the drill in place. Although replaceable, the blade is designed to last for thousands of cuts on 1250 MCM aluminum or copper cables.
