VIDEO – No Hollywood Magic without THESE Guys!

September 23, 2012 | By Anthony Capkun

So who takes care of electrical standards for the entertainment industry? While at the annual convention of the Canadian Section/Ontario Chapter of IAEI (International Association of Electrical Inspectors), EBMag chatted with the folks of EESCO… but who are they?

EESCO stands for Entertainment Electrical Safety Committee of Ontario, which was formed because some entertainment industry protocols fall outside the rules contained in the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC). Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) works alongside the entertainment industry through EESCO to bridge the gap between the realities of the entertainment world and the code.
In this video, Rodger Dean of R. Dean Lighting Ltd. and Art Wanuch of KRE Electric Ltd. tour us through the EESCO display. They show us just how unique some of this equipment—and the professionals who wield it—truly is.
