July 26, 2023 – The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum is accepting nominations for its board of directors.

“This is a great opportunity for those who want to be involved in setting the organization’s strategic direction and overseeing its work on behalf of Canada’s apprenticeship community,” says CAF.

CAF-FCA is a non-profit organization that brings together apprenticeship stakeholders to share information and promising practices, identify challenges, and propose joint solutions.

To be considered for the board, one must be:

1. Nominated by their member organization or another member in the same constituency group (Employer, Labour, Jurisdiction, Education).
2. Have a current and direct relationship to a member organization that is in good standing at the Champion, Patron or Supporter level.
3. Maintain CAF-FCA membership throughout the term on the board.

CAF is accepting nominations for the following positions:

Jurisdiction – 1 position (4-year term)

A jurisdiction is defined as a provincial or territorial authority with enshrined regulatory responsibility for apprenticeship.

Employer – 1 position (2-year term), 1 position (4-year term)

An employer is defined as a private or public sector organization that hires and trains apprentices for the purposes of its own enterprise and engages apprentices as paid employees.

Labour – 1 position (4-year term)

A labour organization is defined as one whose primary purpose is the ongoing best interest of skilled trades employees, including the provision of fair wages, apprenticeship training, and excellent work conditions.

Educator – 1 position (4-year term)

An educational institution is defined as an institution providing apprenticeship training where training leads to certification in Red Seal and/or designated trades recognized by the jurisdiction in which it operates.

Nominations must be supported by the main contact of the member organization, and must be received no later than August 22, 2023, 11:59 pm ET.
