Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries Ltd., has announced that two of its smart grid sensor devices (OutageAdvisor Fault Location and Detection Solution, and VARAdvisor Capacitor Bank Maintenance Solution) are Verizon Network Certified and available for sale to electric utilities. Using these products, it claims that utilities can easily receive the system performance data necessary to help efficiently operate their electrical grids—thereby, reducing the need for on-site inspections while also identifying and solving problems that could cause outages or increase system energy losses.
