DeWalt observes 100th anniversary: a century of tool evolution
February 6, 2024 | By Anthony Capkun
February 6, 2024 – Stanley Black & Decker brand DeWalt is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Congratulations!
The company traces its roots to Raymond DeWalt, a tradesman in Pennsylvania who developed a tool to streamline and expedite wood-cutting operations.
The “Wonder-Worker” was an adjustable electric radial arm saw that provided the ability to execute multiple operations on one piece of equipment, and it led to the creation of DeWalt.
Later in life, DeWalt became a shop teacher at Mechanicsburg High School in Pennsylvania, says the company, “educating the next generation of professional tradespeople”.
DeWalt will mark this milestone in various ways this year, including ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on May 14.
