November 12, 2015 – The PX50 safety transformer for pool and spa use is now available from Intermatic Incorporated.

This latest addition to Intermatic’s PX Series of transformers is a code compliant, 50W transformer designed to supply underwater pool lights, submersible fixtures and outdoor garden lights with 12 to 14V. The PX50 has been specially designed to operate in harsh environments, such as high heat and humidity, as well as the chemicals typically found around pools and spas, Intermatic noted.

The PX50 has circuit protection that disconnects power to the transformer in case of defect or overload as well as a grounded shield between primary and secondary windings. It is in compliance with UL-379 and CSA TILB44A standards.

In addition, the PX50 is universally compatible with LED lighting systems, according to Intermatic.

Other new offerings include the PJB4175 and PJB2175, light junction boxes specially designed for pools, pool-spa combinations and landscape applications. These rugged J-Boxes support up to four pool and spa lights and are rated for luminaries, Intermatic said.
