(Updated August 26, 2013) August 24, 2013 – EBMag has learned of a unique event bringing together 72 women from electrical contracting, manufacturing and distribution in Brampton, Ont.: the first annual Electric-Elle golf tournament.

To learn more, we contacted one of the organizers: Susy Kustra of Southwire Canada, who explained the idea behind the event is to “bring women in the electrical industry together for a fun and non-competitive event, and provide [them] with a networking opportunity in this industry…”.

The 18-hole, Best Ball event is followed by dinner and awards. Prizes will be awarded for all levels of golfers (e.g. closest to the pin, most balls lost and best shot onto a different hole). Don’t miss this opportunity, say organizers, to meet and network with other women in the electrical industry and, most importantly, have fun.

“We also feel that it’s important to inspire younger women who may have just recently joined our industry; show them that it is possible for women to build a long-term and prosperous career…” added Kustra.
