Milbank launches 12kW home standby generator
August 24, 2015 By Renée Francoeur

August 24, 2015 – Milbank says it has a new 12kW home standby generator. Installed on residential properties to provide backup power in the event of an outage, the 12kW model provides homeowners with a “smaller, quieter and more powerful” generator solution.
Some of the improvements to the product include a decrease in sound decibel rating as well as a front exhaust, which allows for flexible placement as close as 18 in. from the home, Milbank claimed. Its engine has been replaced with the Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine, and its AGM battery replaced by a lead acid battery.
When paired with the SynapSwitch, one of Milbank’s intelligent automatic transfer switches, the 12kW generator can provide homeowners with managed, whole-house power, the company added. Rather than powering limited, pre-selected circuits determined during installation, whole-house power management allows the generator to manage electrical loads based on priority or size.
