Not just another minivan: the Ram 2015 Cargo Van

November 26, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

November 26, 2014 – Built at the Chrysler Group Windsor (Ontario) Assembly Plant, the 2015 Ram Cargo Van (CV) features solid sliding doors and rear quarter windows and backlight privacy panels in place of sunscreen glass windows, although buyers have the option of equipping the vehicle with several combinations of solid and glass panels.

Standard features include covered 17-in. steel wheels, 160A alternator, 20-gal fuel tank, all-season extra-load capacity tires, 730A maintenance-free battery, commercial-duty suspension, engine oil cooler, quad halogen headlamps, power rack-and-pinion steering and fold-away power exterior mirrors with heating element.

The CV also offers a structural flat aluminum rear load floor; in fact, three flooring options are available, including one with a flat, uninterrupted, high-capacity surface. A second, optional “deluxe load” floor provides through-the-floor access to three storage bins (providing an additional 11.5 cf of cargo capacity) and load floor tie-downs. A third option is to delete the load floor to accommodate various vocational upfits.

The van offers a towing capacity up to 3600 pounds, while a heavy-duty radiator and transmission oil cooler help meet heavier powertrain demands. At the heart of the vehicle is a 3.6L Pentastar V-6 delivering 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A one-piece instrument panel is more intuitive for the customer, says Ram, adding the CV offers Uconnect Web, which allows you to stay connected via wireless internet.
