February 1, 2012 – Rexel, a global distributor of electrical supplies, today announced the acquisition of Liteco, an independent distributor of electrical supplies in the Maritimes. This acquisition complements Rexel’s position in Canada, says the company, adding it is consistent with Rexel’s “strategic aim of strengthening its market share in key mature markets”.

Founded in 1976, Liteco operates from 13 branches located in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. As of December 31, 2011, Liteco employed about 120 people.
