October 31, 2018 – Stelpro, which manufactures electric heating equipment and controls, is investing $24 million over three years to increase production capacity and overall productivity at its plant in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Que.

The investment will add 65,000 sf of new space, including office, product development, innovation, production and distribution facilities. Construction began in June 2018 and will continue through the end of 2019.

While the expansion will create 50 new jobs, Stelpro is also increasing the automation and robotization of its production processes. The company’s strategic plan seeks cost reductions in response to significant increases in material prices and global competition.

“Stelpro is committed to manufacturing competitively and maintaining quality jobs in Quebec,” says Yves Chabot, owner and president (pictured, centre of first row, at the groundbreaking ceremony). “The strength of our relationships with our customers, partners and suppliers is also a key factor in the decision to invest here.”
