October 23, 2015 – Ontario’s Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. (CND) says it has received formal approval from its shareholders, the City of Cambridge and the Township of North Dumfries, to change its business name to Energy+ Inc., as of January 1, 2016, when it formally amalgamates with Brant County Power Inc. (BCP).

“While our name is changing, our core business remains the delivery of reliable energy plus value-added services for customers and communities we serve,” said Ian Miles, CND president and CEO. “Customers in the City of Cambridge, Township of North Dumfries and the County of Brant will continue to receive excellent service from the Energy+ team, who continue to work out of the Cambridge and Paris, Ont. locations.”

Energy + Inc. will continue to be regulated by the Ontario Energy Board.

On November 28, 2014, CND purchased BCP, a local distribution company that delivers electricity to approximately 10,000 customers within the County of Brant including the communities of Burford, Cainsville, Mt. Pleasant, Paris and St. George.
