February 24, 2017 - EnSync Energy Systems, a developer of distributed energy resource (DER) systems and internet of energy (IOE) control platforms for the utility, commercial, industrial and multi-tenant building markets, has announced a partnership with ENMAX Energy Corporation at the District Energy Centre site in Calgary, Alta., to integrate solar and energy storage with a combined heat and power (CHP) system using EnSync’s patented Matrix technology.

June 21, 2017 - A University of Huddersfield researcher is developing new technologies that could enable clusters of houses to share their solar energy rather than simply export surplus electricity to the grid. Also, new systems for fault detection will enable homeowners to monitor and maintain the efficiency of their panels.
June 20, 2017 - To supply additional generation and make up for “lower-than-anticipated energy production at the existing wind farm”, NB Power and TransAlta have agreed to add 17.25MW of wind-generating capacity at the existing Kent Hills site.

June 20, 2017 - Nova Scotia Power is installing a new transmission line between Onslow and Springhill, saying this will “support the addition of more clean, renewable energy for our customers, and increase the reliability of electricity supply along this key corridor”.
May 18, 2017 - The provincial government and NB Power are forming a new corporation as a joint venture to “capitalize on New Brunswick’s geography in exporting energy”, the two parties say.
February 27, 2017 - Demand for electricity in downtown Vancouver is expected to grow by over 75% over the next 30 years, says BC Hydro, which currently operates three substations in the downtown core. Of those, Murrin and Dal Grauer substations are nearing end-of-life and need to be replaced.
