March 24, 2017 - The Government of Alberta says its Renewable Electricity Program is expected to attract at least $10.5 billion of investment to the provincial economy by 2030, and create more than 7200 jobs, with energy minister Margaret McCuaig-Boyd adding, “This will be a competitive process, bringing the most renewable generation online at the lowest cost”.

February 27, 2017 - Demand for electricity in downtown Vancouver is expected to grow by over 75% over the next 30 years, says BC Hydro, which currently operates three substations in the downtown core. Of those, Murrin and Dal Grauer substations are nearing end-of-life and need to be replaced.

January 3, 2017 - The second phase of a three-year modernization project in St. Catharines, Ont.—totalling $4.8 million—has been completed on time, according to Horizon Utilities.
December 15, 2016 - Today, Quebec’s and Ontario’s premiers—Philippe Couillard and Kathleen Wynne—attended the signing of an electricity trade agreement between Hydro-Quebec and Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator that will see IESO purchase a total of 14 TWh of electricity from the utility from 2017 to 2023.
