RECALL: Mislabelled Nexans Canada 14/2 NMD90 Heatex cable – RCL13-15

April 19, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

April 19, 2013 – Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is notifying the public that Nexans Canada Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of 102 spools of 14/2 NMD90 Heatex cable (Part #99138) due to mislabelling.

Manufactured in Canada, the product is correctly manufactured and printed as 14/2 NMD90 Heatex, and is safe to use as such. However, the product label on the spool incorrectly describes the product as 12/2 NMD90 Heatex. This product should not be used in an installation requiring 12/2 NMD90 Heatex, as the potential exists for installing the product in an unsuitable application.

There have been no injuries or incidents to date.

These spools were sold by Rona in October 2012. Consumers should return the product to place of purchase for refund.
